Mid-terms & Valentine Dance

The Valentine Dance is Thursday, yes Thursday, February 10, from 7:00 to 9:30 in the Elementary Cafeteria. It's on Thursday because Friday is a 12:40 dismissal and some parents might be planning to go out of town and wouldn't want to wait until 9:30 when the dance is over. The dance costs $2.00 and students should look nice. Mid-terms will be since home with your child on Friday, February 11. I also mail home grade cards of students who have D's and F's.

Busy, Busy, Busy

There is a lot going on in Middle School. Each grade voted on class favorites this week, these will be announced at the Valentine Dance on Feb. 10. Next week Student Council is taking orders for carnations to be delivered on Valentine Day. We deliver ONLY to middle school students and teachers. We don't make money on this, flowers cost a dollar and we charge a dollar. The last day for students to order is February 4. Look for Mid-Term grade cards on February 11.
Second Semester is off and running. We missed two "snow days" and made one up on January 17. The other make-up day is February 21, President's Day. Some students have continued doing their work and making good grades in 2011 and some are not turning in work and failing. Check your child's grades and either congratulate them on doing well OR give them a "pep talk" to get busy do better. Most of the time if they just do their assignments and hand them in on time they will make a passing grade.

New Year, New Semester

Happy New Year! We've started a new quarter and a new semester. Your child can have a fresh start on grades, if it's needed. Their semester grade started new on January 3, for that reason, there will be no Bulldog Days or Targeted Tutoring for two weeks. We will begin Targeted Tutoring on January 18. We go every day, all day the next two weeks.
